I started seeing Dr. Khuu (Mountain View location) towards the end of 2019. I suffered from a medium severity case of acne throughout my teens and into my 20s, primarily on my T-zone. In my late twenties it was more mild but I would still get the occasional itchy/painful breakout. I decided to seek out a dermatologist because I got a really itchy and persistent breakout in my T-zone and it wasn't getting much better with what I did at home. Also I had insurance from work so each visit was only a $10 copay. The first appointment was scheduled through Zocdoc and subsequent ones were scheduled at the office's front desk.

Dr. Khuu took one look and did a diagnosis, prescribed me oral antibiotics and some stuff to put on my face, and talked about potential triggers. He did explain what each of the things he was prescribing was intended to do. The itching went down within a month and a couple more months after that I wasn't getting bad breakouts anymore! Admittedly I did make some lifestyle adjustments to have fewer breakouts.

After my skin was mostly clear we talked about scarring and skin texture and he suggested I get microneedling (this was paid out of pocket and it's not cheap). I finished the last round of microneedling recently (it's 3 sessions, 1 month apart) and my skin texture and discoloration has improved a lot. It's not perfect, but I probably haven't seen my skin look this good since before puberty.

Dr. Khuu himself is very quick with each consultation. In the first appointment I barely said anything when he prescribed everything. Most sessions, besides the microneedling, I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Some people might not like that, but I'm not much of a talker myself so it was fine with me. I was also willing to experiment a bit. The man definitely gets results.

The only downside I have is that some of the nurses occasionally forget to submit refills when you tell them. And sometimes when you call in there aren't nurses available to do the refill even though the office is open.Type your paragraph here.

I have been there 3 times and each one has been professional, caring, and informative. Dr. Khuu is a delight- he is a vivid dresser and looks like a teenager. To find personality from a doctor is a novel experience but he is also very educational and knows his stuff. I would definitely recommend him to others and already have!
